Private Stock electric guitar with figured maple top, TCI pickups and Dragon inlays, including case and certificate
With the PRS Private Stock #8820 35th Anniversary Dragon Frostbite Dragon's Breath, Paul Reed Smith presents the ninth generation of the legendary Dragon guitar to mark the 35th anniversary of his Maryland Company. With its unique combination of top-quality woods, breathtaking inlays and first-class sound, this is the absolute spearhead of guitar building. The central eye-catcher here is without doubt the extremely detailed Dragon inlay work, the design of which was penned by Dungeons and Dragons artist Jeff Easley and artistically implemented by Aulson Inlay. A mahogany body with a figured maple top and a glued "pattern" neck made of Chaltecoco also create the perfect basis for a lively sound and a high playing comfort. Two PRS TCI humbuckers with the coil split option also promise extremely transparent sounds with a distinct vintage character. And last but not least, a high-quality hardware configuration with a smoked black look to match the finish, consisting of a PRS stoptail bridge and tweaked Phase III locking tuners, completes the PRS Private Stock 35th Anniversary Dragon Frostbite Dragon's Breath.

Elaborate and detailed Dragon inlay
The heart of the design of the PRS Private Stock 35th Anniversary Dragon Frostbite Dragon's Breath is undoubtedly the elaborate dragon inlay in the ziricote fingerboard. Designed by none other than fantasy artist Jeff Easley, whose work adorns the covers of the Dungeons and Dragons rulebooks, the inlay was detailed and artfully executed by Aulson Inlay, a family-owned company based on the Chesapeake Bay, just like PRS Guitars. The Dragon Inlay comes to life through the tasteful choice of materials, including abalone, various natural and stabilized woods, citrine and artificial opal.

High quality private stock woods
Not only for the Dragon inlays, but also for the basic construction of the PRS Private Stock #8820 35th Anniversary Dragon, Paul Reed Smith relies on selected materials in private stock quality and careful workmanship. Accordingly, the electric guitar based on the McCarty model has a strong body of intensely drawn African Ribbon Mahogany and a figured maple top, whose impressively even and fine flame is brought to life by the elegant Frostbite finish with Dragon's Breath-Fade. The glued Chaltecoco neck also features a roundish "pattern" profile that fits snugly in the hand and, together with the 10" radius of the Ziricote fingerboard, provides a comfortable playing feel.
PRS TCI humbuckers with the coil-split option promise lively and flexible tones.
PRS TCI Humbucker for detailed sounds
As pickups for the PRS Private Stock #8820 35th Anniversary Dragon Frostbite Dragon's Breath Paul Reed Smith chooses two PRS TCI Humbuckers, which follow the "Tuned Capacitance and Inductance" principle. By fine-tuning the capacity and inductance of the pickup coils, the sound of the two humbuckers is perfectly matched to the PRS 35th Anniversary Dragon, giving the electric guitar a full yet transparent sound and expressive response to playing technique, volume control and attack. The push/pull switch in the tone control also allows both humbuckers to be split into single coils for particularly brilliant timbres.

High quality PRS hardware
Last but not least, high-quality hardware in a smoked black finish completes the PRS Private Stock #8820 35th Anniversary Dragon Frostbite Dragon's Breath. The classic PRS wraparound tailpiece serves as a bridge, with its compensated string support guaranteeing a clean intonation of all strings. PRS Tweaked Phase III Locking Tuners are also used on the headstock, which not only guarantee precise and stable tuning, but also support the resonance transmission of the strings into the guitar.
