The PRS Modern Eagle V Charcoal from the guitar forge Paul Reed Smith in Maryland, USA, was designed with a tasteful high-quality design and refined circuitry and can thus meet the tonal demands of modern guitarist. The extensive sound circuitry through HSH pickup placement, coil splitting and 5-way switching promises a varied sound on the amplifier, which ranges from classic blues and rock sounds to clear and modern sounds with high definition and dynamics. Strong tonewoods like mahogany and curly maple give the electric guitar its character. Furthermore, the PRS Modern Eagle V is equipped with a PRS Generation III tremolo and PRS Phase III locking tuners, which means that stable intonation can be assumed.

Construction and features
As with all PRS electric guitars, the Modern Eagle V Charcoal is built with both quality and functionality in mind, so the processed tonewoods and hardware not only contribute to the tonal structure of the electric guitar but also provide a generally stable and reliable set-up. The mahoganybody and neck are glued together for comfortable playing characteristics, making the 22-fret fingerboard with Bird inlays easy to reach even in the higher registers. The PRS Tromolo Gen III continues to impress with smooth handling thanks to a smooth finish and stable tuning thanks to the PRS Phase III locking tuners.
The HSH pickup equipment makes varied sound design possible over a wide spectrum
HSH pickup equipment with coil split.
Sixteen different sound options can be individually set on the PRS Modern Eagle V with tone and volume controls via its selection of switches. Both TCI humbuckers offer warm soapbar sounds which are easily converted into clear single-coil sounds by two mini-split toggles. An NS-01 single-coil pickup in the centre position provides further flexibility, but can also be overridden by the Push/Pull Tone control. Thus, there are no limits to the 5-way circuit for classic and modern electric guitar sounds.
