PRS guitar for vintage sounds
Named after Paul Reed Smith's long-time friend and mentor Ted McCarty, whose innovative spirit and inventiveness significantly shaped the history of the electric guitar in the fifties and sixties, the PRS McCarty Red Tiger combines classic vintage virtues with the typical appointments of the Marylander Company. While the set-neck construction with 24.594" scale length and carefully selected woods create the basis for butter-smooth playability and a lively sound development, PRS 58/15 LT humbuckers with TCI tuning on the guitar amplifier ensure authentic vintage tones with astonishing flexibility. As a tribute to Ted McCarty, the McCarty 594 Red Tiger electric guitar from PRS is completed by the Tune-O-Matic bridge with Stopbar tailpiece invented by him and classic Vintage-Style tuners.
The PRS McCarty 594 Red Tiger comes with a transparent red lacquered curly maple top and natural back.
The strong "Pattern Vintage" neck made of mahogany convinces with comfortable playing characteristics.
Set-neck guitar with 24.594" scale length
The constructional heart of the McCarty 594 is undoubtedly the precisely measured scale length of 24.594" (624.69 mm), which, together with the carefully selected tonewoods in the classic combination of mahogany body, maple top and mahogany neck, gives the electric guitar a warm and sustain-rich sound with a clear vintage character. The pleasantly strong "Pattern Vintage" neck profile also promises extremely comfortable playing characteristics in all positions of the 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, on which the positions are naturally marked by bird inlays.
As pickups for the McCarty 594 Red Tiger, Paul Reed Smith has chosen two 58/15 LT humbuckers, which are naturally subjected to the TCI process (Tuned Capacitance and Inductance) for optimally matched inductance and capacitance. In conjunction with the significantly reduced number of coil windings, the 58/15 "Low Turns" pickups elicit authentic, particularly warm vintage sounds from the guitar amplifier, which can be shaped by touch and playing style thanks to the excellent dynamic behavior. The coil split option via the push/pull switches of the tone controls also provides glassy single-coil sounds with a brilliant treble spectrum.
Vintage-style tuners with white plastic wings on the headstock of the McCarty 594 ensure precise and stable tuning.
Hardware with a hybrid look
Last but not least, PRS completes the McCarty 594 Red Tiger electric guitar with high-quality Hardware in an appealing hybrid look of nickel and gold. The PRS two-piece bridge system with stable stopbar tailpiece and Tune-O-Matic bridge not only supports the direct and resonant sound character, but also guarantees optimum adjustability of intonation and string action. On the headstock, a carefully dressed bone nut and PRS Vintage-Style machine heads with tulip wings ensure precise and robust tuning of the guitar.
