Electro-acoustic classical guitar in 4/4 size with solid cedar top, walnut body, pickup system and including bag
The Ortega RCE159SN Slim Neck Natural is a high quality electro-acoustic classical guitar in 4/4 size with a slim fretboard. Due to its construction consisting of a solid cedar top and a laminated walnut body, this instrument produces a warm and rich sound, which is especially pronounced in the mid frequencies. Thanks to a rather thin finish, the material can exhibit an amazing vibration behaviour and offers the player a quick attack and a long-lasting sustain, which the RCE159SN can elicit with little effort. The slim mahogany neck with a Laurel fretboard is extremely easy and comfortable to play thanks to the small nut width of 48 mm and scale length of 650 mm. In combination with a generous cutaway, the manufacturer guarantees optimum fingering up to the highest frets, making even complex finger positions incredibly easy to grip. The built-in MagusPro pickup system also produces an extremely natural sound image and rounds off the instrument perfectly with an integrated tuner and precise machine heads. The Ortega RCE159SN Slim Neck Natural comes with a sturdy Ortega bag.
The Ortega RCE159SN Slim Neck Natural at a glance:
I was excited to get this guitar and once unpacked it didn't disappoint. The look and feel of the guitar was great. lovely wood, nicely made and well presented. However, I then tested and played the guitar and instantly noticed the buzzing sound coming from the three steel wound bottom strings. On various frets down the neck, these strings would buzz. No matter how I played and where I play there was always a buzz which was amplified when plugged into an amp. For a guitar thats new and mostly used for finger picking, this is an unacceptable annoyance that no guitarist needs to contend with from a new product. Apart from that, the sound of the guitar seems nice, loud and projected sound when played acoustically and, after a few tweaks, through an amp or pa it does sound good. If the buzzing had not been there then this would be nice enough. However, I had to return it as I am not willing to pay to get a new guitar fixed.
I was for a long time searching for a good nylon guitar. This one sound great in acoustic and also in electro. The neck is fantastic because it's a bright one like a folk guitar. A good reason to buy this guitar is also the price.
