With the Ormsby Run 5 TCGTR Carbon 6 Multiscale Gunmetal, the Perth-based guitar forge, which specialises in fine hard gait electric guitars, presents a first-class metal guitar in the time-honoured T-shape, which with its HS pickup setup and the hip multi-scale construction precisely implements even the deepest tunings. In addition to the mahogany body, a screwed maple neck is used, the "Thin U" profile of which allows unhindered playability over the entire ebony fingerboard. The combination of an Ormsby Old School single coil on the neck and an Ormsby PVH humbucker on the bridge promises versatile sounds for modern progessive metal. Last but not least the Ormsby Run 5 TXGTR Carbon 6 has a Hipshot Bridge and Hipshot Locking Tuner.
The central component in the construction plan of the Ormsby Run 5 TXGTR Carbon 6 Multiscale is undoubtedly the hip multi-scale construction. With individual bore sizes between 25.5" (648 mm) for the high E and 27" (686 mm) for the low E, each string has the optimal tension for it, so that even the deepest drop tunings can be performed with tight precision. For the woods, Ormsby also uses a mahogany body and a three-piece maple neck with four screws, whereby the flat "Thin U" profile together with the flowing transition to the body guarantees unhindered playability over all 24 stainless steel frets of the ebony fingerboard.
For the pickups of the Ormsby Run 5 TXGTR Carbon 6 Multiscale Gunmetal, Ormsby relies on its own HS setup, which skilfully realises versatile sounds from clean to high gain. The Ormsby PVH humbucker placed on the bridge convinces thanks to the symbiosis of moderate output and Alnico V magnet with a particularly clear sound, which is ideal for singing leads and juicy riffs in crunch. On the neck, the Ormsby Old School A5 Single Coil, which also uses an Alnico V magnet, delivers an authentic vintage tone for clear clean and dynamic overdrive sounds. The Tone potentiometer with push/pull switch can also be used to split the bridge humbucker into a single coil.
Last but not least, the Ormsby Run 5 TXGTR Carbon 6 Multiscale Gunmetal offers a high-quality hardware equipment of the hip Company Hipshot. Accordingly, a Hipshot Custom Hardtail bridge sits on the body, which was specially developed for multi-scale construction and guarantees optimum adjustment of intonation and string position even in the lowest tunings. Hipshot Grip-Lock Open Gear clamping mechanisms on the headstock ensure not only precise, stable tuning, but also easy string changes.
