25 Amp Models with additional Cabinet IRs
With a wide selection of traditional amp circuits, the NUX MG-30 is guaranteed to leave no sound wish unfulfilled. From clear and tight US classics of the Fifties and Sixties to juicy Brit sounds and high-gain metal, there is a wide selection of different basic sounds for electric guitar, Bass and even acoustic guitars with 25 different amps, which can be combined with 8 pre-installed cabinets for guitar and bass and 8 microphones with three different positions each. In addition, there is the possibility to use up to 128 third-party IRs with the MG-30, making the compact multi-effect really up for absolutely any fun.
Effects section with configurable signal flow
The NUX MG-30 offers a broad overview of the most popular effects, which can be easily edited, arranged and controlled in real-time. Simulated pedals like overdrive, wah, modulation effects like Chorus or flanger, Delay and Reverb as well as compressors and NoiseGates can be easily placed in 11 blocks at any point of the signal chain to achieve different sound effects in combination. Using the integrated expression pedal and the additional EXP connector on the front of the MG-30, the control of individual effect parameters by foot is also easily possible. Last but not least, the Nux MG-30 has a loop recorder and a drum computer, which provide variety while playing the guitar.
Simple and intuitive operation
With its colour 4" LCD and clear knob layout, the NUX MG-30 is amazingly easy to use and quick to set up. Here, the innovative 5-Way Encoder is used for easy navigation through any menus, while four additional parameters can be set easily and precisely via the lower four knobs. For absolute precision in editing individual patches, Nux furthermore provides the QuickTone Editor for Windows and macOS, which applies all changes in real-time and provides extensive tools for finding the perfect sound.
Numerous connection options
The MG-30 can be used either on its own or in combination with existing equipment. For example, the MG-30 can act as a pure effects unit that can be looped in before and after the preamp using the four-cable method. The processor is also well equipped for recording purposes with two line outs and an additional USB port for audio streaming. Otherwise, an aux input for playback devices and a headphone jack are available to allow bedroom shredders to practice and perfect riffs and song ideas silently.
Bought this for home recordings and didn't want to spend on a headrush. Gotta say I'm really pleased with. Display is a winner compared to say an ME 80, the visual aspect really does give it the next dimension just like its big competition as above. Its got plenty of options for routing out of the pedal and sounds great whether gigging or using it as a direct input into the desk recording. It's also very clear, no big hissis comprising your track. Its very compact and the foot pedal is reasonably weight. I've played with a head rush and yes it's better but, you can't beat the bang you get for your bucks with this. Nice and robust feeling also 👌
I bought this to play around with at home, just to practise on my guitar with. Having said that I was amazed at how good most of the effects were and the Quicktone Editor app makes it even better.
Naturally, some of the pre-set FX will not be to everyone's taste - but nearly everything is tweakable, which gives you an incredible amount of options. You are literally spoiled for choice with the NUX MG30.
It's wasn't perfect out of the box, as it didn't have a UK power adaptor with the correct pins and using it with a 2-pin shaving adaptor was a bit unstable, but luckily I already had a suitable power adaptor that worked just fine.
All in all, it was well worth it. It looks good, it's solidly constructed and can give you just about any tone you desire so what more does anyone want at this price?
