Roucha Legio - multimode stereo filter with wavefolding
Noise Engineering Roucha Legio Black Multimode Filter at a glance:
The Roucha Legio from Noise Engineering is a digital 12 dB Multimode filter with stereo signal path. The user has the choice between lowpass, Bandpass and highpass modes. Especially Lowpass and Bandpass have a sound character that is typical for the whole acid theme: very "squelchy" and well-dosed. The second sound-shaping element is a digital wavefolder, which can be used before, after or in the middle of the filter. The cleanest results are achieved by the Wavefolder when a sine waveform is applied to the input. Of course all other signals will work as well, experimentation is encouraged. Each of the three knobs has its own control voltage input. In addition, the module can be removed from the signal path without pulling a patch cord; simply press the Cutoff knob or use a gate signal. This can lead to exciting results when the sound processing part is simply taken out for the duration of a sixteenth or half bar. The signal processing is done in stereo, the audio input accepts mono signals thanks to the normalized left channel, the audio output is always stereo. Via the Noise Engineering homepage you get access to the "World or Legio" page, where you can find alternative firmwares and write your own firmware for a module of the Legio series.
