The Noise Engineering Mimetic Sequent is a sequencer module for modular synthesizers in Eurorack format. The module is clocked via external clock signals and can record three patterns of 64 steps each. The length of the patterns can be determined by CV and trigger signals. 2x modes are available for recording patterns: Short Record and Free Record. As a special feature, the Mimetic Sequent has a random knob, with which the probability and method of random changes of a pattern can be influenced. The module has 3x random modes to control CV sequences more precisely. The module also has a quantizer.
Recording Modes The 2x Short & Free recording modes work as follows:
Short Record records everything until the 64 steps are full or a signal is present at the measure input.
Free Record records 64 steps and overwrites previously recorded data until recording is stopped.
Random Modes The 3x random modes are 5C, 5P & 2P:
5C is specialized in the modification of different modulation signals.
5P & 2P have been programmed for pitch CV voltages. The working range of 5P is five octaves, that of 2P two octaves.
