The opticalCON ADVANCED MTP cable connector in the proven MTP format can accommodate twelve optical Multimode PC or single-mode APC channels. The full metal housing offers a spring-loaded push-pull locking mechanism and excellent strain relief with aramid fibres integrated into the cable. All opticalCON ADVANCED plugs are equipped with an extremely robust plastic cover, an integrated kink protection with strain relief and a plastic-coated, snap-in metal protective cap with safety cable. When not plugged in, the fibres in panel jacks and cable plugs are protected by the automatic protective flap, which opens when plugged in and closes when unplugged. In the event of an unintentional live state of the fibre, the protective flaps also prevent laser signals from escaping. The connector housings are finished with an extremely hard-wearing black chrome coating.
They are therefore suitable for transmitting audio, data or video signals between two points and can be used under extreme environmental conditions in studio or tour operations, in rental or in outdoor broadcast applications. The cable connectors are only available pre-assembled.
The colour-coded connector inserts indicate the respective fibre types used and the ferrule cut (multimode - black, singlemode APC - green). As the plugs cannot be distinguished from the opticalCON QUAD plugs from the outside, the spring and the protective flap of the panel jacks orange are coloured to identify them as MTP type. (With conventional opticalCON QUAD plugs, the protective flap is black).
