With the Neunaber Neuron Gain Intelligence, the Californian effects specialists have launched a compact guitar preamp that delivers versatile overdrive and distortion sounds with the surprisingly authentic feel of a full-blown amplifier. In addition to the 3-band tone control for adjusting the sound, there is also a practical tilt EQ for quick on-the-fly adjustments and a compressor for smoothing out unwanted dynamic peaks. A noise gate is also on board, which ensures silence during breaks in playing. The Neunaber Neuron is also equipped with a switchable loudspeaker simulation for direct pickup of the guitar signal. Once sounds have been found, they can be stored furthermore in one of the six internal memory locations. Last but not least, the Neunaber Neuron Gain Intelligence is fully MIDI-compatible so it can also be used as a sound generator in complex setups.
