The all-purpose weapon for all situations
The KM 184 is a professional small-diaphragm condenser microphone and has been reduced to the essentials without many frills: The most realistic and neutral recording possible of any signal source. Its precise cardioid pickup pattern provides excellent suppression of rear sound and ensures coloration-free imaging of adjacent sound sources. Thanks to its slim design and excellent transmission characteristics, it is frequently used in radio and television productions in addition to studio and live applications.
How does the KM 184 sound?
The sound of the microphone can be described as clear, fresh and lively. This can also be inferred from a slight treble emphasis in the range around 9 kilohertz. Due to its clear sound, the Neumann KM 184 is a routine all-rounder and reproduces almost any instrument with exceptional complexity and depth of sound.
What possible applications does the KM 184 offer me?
For all users who are looking for a high-quality small-diaphragm microphone, but do not require the modularity of the KM 100 system, the "Series 180" is a cost-effective alternative that does not require any compromises in electroacoustic characteristics. There are no limits to the possible applications. Whether on drum overheads, strings, wind instruments, percussion, pianos, Leslie amplifiers, guitar amplifiers or choirs. The KM 184 is always the best choice when a recording of the sound source with as little coloration as possible is desired.

A very versatile stereo-set which can be used to many many situations. However, the Neumann logo ads to the price, and there a no features like low-cut or pad, which many of the competitors has in thi price-range.
