As part of the Neumann Clip Mic MCM system, the KK 14 capsule delivers unmatched perfection and acoustic consistency for close miking. It captures the characteristic sound of acoustic instruments with unsurpassed precision and neutrality. Earlier limitations of the electret principle no longer apply - the capsule delivers a significantly extended bass and midrange and commanding elegance in the treble. From quiet nuances to peak dynamics in a fortissimo: with a maximum sound pressure level of 153 dB, the KK 14 is ready for any playing situation.
PERFECTION IN EIGHT PARTS
To achieve this goal, Neumann engineers have rethought the production process for electret microphones. Where classic solutions rely on highly integrated systems, Neumann opted for a capsule design with multiple layers. The eight components of the KK 14 are built and designed to each deliver a perfect result. The components are assembled by hand in Germany. This uncompromising design and process opens the spectrum for unprecedented acoustic quality. In this sense, the titanium cabinet is far more than a guarantee of robust durability - it is also an expression of the inner elegance of design and technology.
SONIC CONSISTENCY AND ROBUST CONSTRUCTION
The multi-layered design also allows for an unprecedented level of sonic consistency; each capsule sounds exactly the same. Sound engineers can rely on each system, save time during setup (no adjustments between microphones), and always get the same basic sound from the first moment in soundcheck.
As part of the Neumann Miniature Clip Mic MCM system, the new capsule also impresses with hitherto unusually low operating costs. Instead of being designed for one season, the new system is designed for several years. Its modular design enables uncomplicated replacement of individual components should the need arise. Nine fastening clips ensure reliable mounting on any instrument while remaining gentle on surfaces. The new system connects to all major wireless systems and includes cables for 3.5 mm jack, Lemo, Mini-XLR 4 Pin and MicroDot.
