The DSP-based and bi-amplified KH 150 studio monitor from Neumann is the perfect loudspeaker for smaller studio environments with high demands, or for surround applications with other models in the KH series. It not only cuts a fine figure visually, but also performs excellently in a wide variety of applications: whether rock/pop productions, voice-over recordings, or soundtrack mixes and compositions - it simply does it all, and with high precision! Thanks to its linearity, lowest distortion, no coloration and perfect adaptability to any acoustic environment, it is possible to hear every nuance of your tracks and make correct decisions in
Especially and compared to its smaller sibling models, the KH150 impresses with a deeper bass response down to 39 Hz. Thus, it almost reaches the larger KH310! This is made possible by the new 6.5-inch high-precision woofer, the carefully designed bass reflex cabinet and the DSP-controlled electronics. Thus, EDM fans will also get their money's worth. Its top end thereby reaches 21kHz and linearizes the phase response in an amazingly transparent sound of the mids and extreme accuracy in the time domain respectively precise impulse reproduction and finely resolved halls results.
Even the best loudspeakers only sound as good as the acoustic environment allows. Neumann's MMD (Mathematically Modeled Dispersion) waveguideensures a wide sweet spot and minimizes desk reflections, while the internal DSP enables room calibration. The latter is made possible by the combination of Automatic Monitor Alignment system and Neumann's MA 1 (sold separately). The DSP-controlled electronics enable sophisticated crossovers and avoid phase distortion caused by analog filters. At the same time, various switches for sound shaping are available on the rear panel in addition to ground lift, input select and level.
It's not just the sound and design that are impressive: Neumann's engineers worked meticulously to develop patent-pending amplifier technology that combines superior audio performance with Class D energy efficiency. Although the monitor's amps deliver up to 145 watts(woofer) and 100 watts(tweeter), only 17 W is consumed when idle. When activating the optional Auto Standby mode, power consumption can be reduced to 0.3 watts when not in use of the speaker.
This version in particular is a model with AES67 network port. AES67 is considered an exchange format with the plus point of being able to connect a wide range of network standards. The KH 150 AES is therefore fully compatible with broadcast standards such as ST 2110, ST 2022-7 redundancy and RAVENNA. At the same time, it can also be connected to DANTE-generated AES67 network streams.
