Excerpt: One of the many strengths of the Neumann KH 120 is its impressive impulse fidelity. Transients are reproduced with such clear contours that everything from fine pinpricks in the treble to
crisp kick drums, everything is reproduced with virtually no softening of the intended dynamics. The depth gradation comes out in the most diverse shades and the spatial image is very open, so that you can perceive all sounds in a mix more than clearly separated from each other.
The KH 120 A is designed as a near-field monitor or rear speaker in larger multi-channel systems. The studio monitor features an MMD (Mathematically Modeled Dispersion) waveguide, flexible acoustic controls, analog Class AB amplifiers, multiple input options, and a comprehensive range of mounting hardware. This allows the studio loudspeaker to be used in a wide variety of acoustic conditions, with any signal source, and in virtually any location.
The Neuman KH 120 A was developed with the help of the latest simulation and measurement technology and convinces with its acoustic authenticity - not only for home recording or as a small monitoring system in professional recording studios, but also without restrictions in the private sector, where high-quality speakers are required for listening to music or, for example, for home cinema systems. By adding a subwoofer, such as the Neumann KH 810 or the DSP-controlled KH 750, the bass frequency response can be extended down to 18Hz and the overall system level can be increased.
The Neumann KH 120 A can be used in project, music, broadcast and post-production studios for recording, mixing and mastering.
I've purchased these monitors for installation in a post-production suite. After two full days mixing on them I'm really impressed. I had heard them before but putting them in my own room and putting them through their paces I'm not disappointed. They are really well made, powerful and are perfect for mixing video dialogue.
Wasn't sure what i was buying into, but after some research and speaking to others, i made the jump. Speakers are on the smaller end, but do not lack power, detail or clarity. They have an excellent sound and build quality. I also purchased the proprietary stands, which are top quality, solid and perfect for desktop mounting. The solid brackets ensure there is no vibration, delivering clear and precise detail. I agonised between these and the Adams A7x, but think i've made the right choice.
Awesome monitors. Upgrading from Equator audio 5 Inch monitors, and the detail that I get in the high mids is much better.
I use it along Sonarworks Reference room correction and it works great in my tiny room.
