Reference clock at the highest level

The MUTEC REF 10 is a high-precision 10 MHz reference clock generator designed for optimal synchronization of digital audio systems. With exceptionally low phase noise and a stable clock base, it significantly improves the performance of compatible D/A converters, audio re-clockers, music servers and clock generators. At its heart is an extremely low-noise, oven-controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO) manufactured in Germany and specially optimized for demanding audio playback applications.

Thanks to innovative signal processing, the REF 10 delivers a square-wave output signal with a particularly steep edge, which enables more precise synchronization of the connected devices. Eight galvanically isolated and individually switchable outputs ensure flexible integration into a wide variety of setups. Both 50-ohm and 75-ohm outputs are available in parallel to ensure maximum compatibility with a wide range of studio equipment and audiophile components.

Maximum stability

The entire circuit is powered by an ultra-low-noise power supply that has been optimized down to the sub-Hz range to ensure virtually loss-free signal transmission. An integrated linear power supply with high-quality filtering also contributes to the stability of the clocking. The robust housing protects the sensitive electronics from external interference.

Perfect addition for re-clockers and D/A converters

Precise clocking with the REF 10 maximizes the level of detail in digital music signals. The optimized synchronization reduces unwanted jitter and improves the sound quality in all frequency ranges. Especially in combination with high-quality re-clockers or D/A converters, the result is significantly increased transparency, dynamics and spatial imaging.

Want even more precision?

For even greater precision, the REF 10 SE120 offers a further optimized version with further reduced phase noise and lower jitter. Thanks to a specially selected OCXO with the strictest quality control, it achieves even better clock stability values and ensures more precise synchronization of the connected devices. This results in even greater transparency, detail and spatial representation in the sound image.
