Based on the well-known StingRay Special design, the chic bass guitar combines the usual agile playing characteristics with a powerful neodymium pickup and a flexible Darkglass preamp that not only comes up with a 2-band Equalizer but also shakes the earth with two Distortion voicings of the Alpha ∙ Omega pedal. Of course, Music Man completes the DarkRay Bass with professional Hardware in the form of a solid top-load bridge and precise Custom Lightweight Tuner.

Due to the generous contours at the front and back, the hardwood body fits the body with optimal balance, while the smoothly designed sculpted joint promises easy accessibility to the high registers. The bolt-on neck made of roasted maple creates the best conditions for implementing classic and modern playing techniques with its silky oil-wax finish and grippy C-profile.

Powerful Neodymium Pickup
As pickup for the DarkRay BassMusic Man chooses the neodymium humbucker known from the StingRay Special. Thanks to the powerful magnet material, the Bass pickup convinces with a powerful, yet precisely defined sound, which skillfully translates every nuance in bass playing.
Flexible Darkglass Preamp
The eponymous highlight of the Music Man DarkRay Bass is undoubtedly the extremely flexible Darkglass preamp, with the help of which almost any sound for rock and metal can be realized. In addition to the always active 2-band equalizer for precise adjustment of the tone in bass and treble, the electronics offers two voicings inspired by the Alpha ∙ Omega pedal. While Alpha stands for a rich bass distortion, Omega delivers a toxic fuzz in the best sense for striking Bass lines. To customize the Distortion sounds, the DarkRay offers both a gain control and a blend pot for the Mix between clean and distorted signal. In addition, a multicolored LED ring provides information about the selected voicing.
