With the Sub 37 Tribute Edition, Moog introduces a synthesizer based on the Sub Phatty. The sound is shaped by 2 oscillators from the Sub Phatty.
The keyboard has been expanded to 37 keys which gives room for other new features. Thanks to the display you can now name and store presets.Furthermore, the Sub 37 has been equipped with an arpeggiator and a step sequencer with step record function.
The Sub 37 can be played paraphonic, which means you can play bass and lead sounds at the same time with independent oscillator control. The oscillators will access a mutual filter and envelope module.

Playability:
Unlike my Prophet 08, on which I had to spend quite some time before I got able to effortlessly make some music with it, especially in live situations (now I love it, by the way), this one I was able to have fun with since day one. There's virtually a knob for everything you can do, which just makes you want to learn how to play it by playing it. I would have liked it to have a dedicated knob for speedy preset selection, like the Prophet has, but I think can live without it.
Built:
It's as solid as a rock, which makes it feel like a real instrument, unlike many other analog synths which, as great machines as they are, are quite disappointing in the knobs and keybed departments. About the keybed, I have heard people complaining about the action, saying it is too heavy. I don't agree with that, to me the keybed just feels like you can play on it without being afraid to break it.
