The Mooer Preamp Live presents a compact modelling preamplifier that provides an extensive sound pallet with first-class quality and straightforward operation.
A total of 50x different amp simulations are available, which can be combined with one of 30 speaker and 11 microphone simulations utilising highly-accurate Impulse Responses to captaure the character of the source amp and simulate this seamlessly. Once found, sounds can be stored in one of 12 memory locations.
Thanks to the simple layout with the familiar controls, the sound can also be precisely adjusted, while the free Mooer App, which connects via USB or Bluetooth, provides extensive editing options. Another special feature is the "Tone Capture" feature, which can be used to create a detailed digital model of an existing amplifier setup.

Haven't had it for long, but having used it a couple of times to get the feel of it, I'd say it's a good all-round preamp, especially if, like me, you're getting a bit long in the tooth to lug amps around. A good range of amp models is built-in, and they sound fairly spot-on, but if you don't like these, it's laughably simple to change them with a simple download from Mooer's website, connect to your pc/mac (or use the mobile app), a few clicks and you've got a completely new set of amps to play with! And given that there are over 100 IR's in the software, along with various settings for cab sim, boosts and noise gates, it's going to take a while to get bored with this. It lets you "carry" 12 different amps around with you, so even if your gig includes rock/metal, alt rock, pop or even country & folk, this little beauty will do the lot at a reasonable price (considering what you'd have to use to play all those different styles in one night). The option to sample your own amps into the box is a great idea too, so you can take your own sound with you. Well worth a look if you've had enough of playing, then humping and dumping (as our drummer so delicately puts it!)
