The Mellotron M4000D Micro is a sample-based synthesizer. It is the smallest version of the Mellotron M4000D, a faithful replica of the Mellotron, a keyboard instrument that had one tape with samples per key. The now available replica produces the sound digitally and has 100 sounds of the Mellotron and also the Chamberlin. It is played on a touch-sensitive semi-weighted keyboard, which covers two octaves.
Sounds of the Mellotron
The current Mellotron Company has digitized the original tapes of all instrument recordings and used them in the new Mellotron. Additionally it has the sounds of the Chamberlin, an instrument that worked similar to the Mellotron.
