A fine-grained Sitka spruce top provides a very defined sound, which is particularly clear in the mid and treble frequencies. Enriched with the crisp basses of the East Indian rosewood body, this creates a very harmonious overall picture. Thanks to a flat Select Hardwood neck, the instrument can be fingered very easily and obligingly in all 20 frets. These are set into a noble ebony fingerboard, marked with mother-of-pearl dot inlays and framed by an antique white binding.
The characteristic headstock of the D-35 Ambertone features high-quality, chrome-plated die-cast tuners that guarantee precise tuning of the 6 steel strings. In addition, a compensated bridge inlay and a 44.5 mm wide bone nut ensure clean intonation on the 645 mm scale length. Matching the Ambertone finish of the top, the multi-ply binding is designed in a subtle antique white and thus very successfully coordinated with the multi-stripe soundhole rosette and the tortoise pickguard.
