The classic from the standard series with solid woods and including case
The Martin D-28 Sunburst still represents the absolute workhorse in the acoustic guitar sector for many musicians around the world. An uncanny number of albums by well-known artists feature the fine frequencies of the Martin classic, which was first mass-produced in the 1930s. Thanks to a large D-14 fretted dreadnought body, the result is a powerful sound with wide-ranging bass, clear midrange and subtle treble frequencies, making the instrument perfect for vocal accompaniment in the form of expressive strumming and light Pickings. Finished with multi-ply bindings, high-quality mother-of-pearl inlays and a multi-stripe soundhole rosette, the D-28 embodies the origins of the modern dreadnought Western guitar and impresses with its timeless touch, which is still popular today. The scope of delivery includes a sturdy molded hardshell case.
Top wood with sunburst finish
To generate powerful mid and treble frequencies, the manufacturer uses the wood of the North American Sitka spruce for the top construction. Easily recognizable by its fine grain, this tonewood has been one of the most popular materials in guitar construction for decades. To optimize the vibration behavior of the top, it is equipped with a forward-shifted X-bracing, which significantly influences the sound in its definition. Multi-ply binding in Antique White forms a clear boundary to the other components of the body and, in combination with a corresponding multi-stripe soundhole rosette, gives the guitar a simple and timeless appearance.
East Indian rosewood back and sides
For a powerful note in the bass range, the folded back and sides are made of high-quality East Indian rosewood. The coarse-grained tropical wood perfectly complements the top wood tonally with its clear and wide-ranging sound characteristics, giving the tone a very balanced note. Divided by a Style 28 backstripe, the parallel grain is shown to advantage in a very tasteful way and testifies to the fact that the topic of wood selection still plays a significant role in the traditional company.
A comfortable grip and tuning
The neck of the Martin D-28 Sunburst is made of Select Hardwood and features a fine ebony fingerboard marked with Style-28 mother-of-pearl inlays. Due to its flat Modified-Low-Oval profile, all 20 frets can be gripped cleanly and obligingly, making even extensive sequences of notes and chords easy to master. A compensated bridge inlay and a 44.5 mm wide bone nut also ensure clean intonation over the entire 645 mm scale length. Thanks to open nickel tuners with butterbean buttons, the instrument is very easy and comfortable to tune, perfectly rounding out its functionality.
