The Custom Signature Edition Martin Guitars 00-42 SC John Mayer was developed in collaboration with none other than the American singer/songwriter and guitarist John Mayer. The exceptional guitarist is known for his mixture of different styles like R & B, Rock, Pop, Country and Blues. It was obvious to develop a guitar with special assertiveness in the mid-frequencies and thus a lot of choice for the original classic of western guitar history: the Parlor. However, only the best woods and modern features are used here and the Martin 00-42 SC John Mayer is also a real feast for the eyes.
A true beauty in sound and appearance: The Martin 00-42 SC John Mayer
Quality, sound, playability and of lasting value: The Martin Guitars 00-42 SC John Mayer
The solid Martin 00-42 SC John Mayer has an AAA Sitka spruce top on a body made of Mexican cocobolo. Together with the handy Parlor body, this acoustic guitar resonates with soft but clearly defined basses, nuanced and assertive mids, as well as crystal clear highs. A shortened scale of 632mm makes the strings pleasantly soft to play and makes it easier to bend, especially when playing blues, while a wide saddle width of 47.6mm provides plenty of room for filigree fingerstyle. A compensated bone bridge insert ensures optimum resonance transmission and a flat string position. The Martin 00-42 SC John Mayer is visually rounded off with a Purfling and Golden Era Style 42 Snowflake fingerboard inlays made of Abalone. Last but not least, a case is included in the delivery.
