5 watt combo amplifier from the Marshall Origin series
With the Marshall Origin series, Marshall returns to the roots of its own sound traditions. The straightforward amplifiers in plexi and bluesbreaker design follow the classic single-channel design of the early Marshall amplifiers and meet all the demands of today's guitarists, from clear cleans to warm crunch and overdrive sounds. Thanks to Powerstem technology, all amplifiers in the series can also be operated at lower power levels, allowing the Marshall Origin series to be used in the living room or bedroom studio without any problems.
Origin 5C Combo
The Marshall Origin 5 Combo is the most compact introduction to the Origin series and is the ideal practice combo. With a width of just 46cm and a power output of 5 watts, the amplifier delivers enough power for home use and recordings and also offers the advantage of being able to quickly drive the amplifier to saturation using the volume control. This results in classically rich Marshall sounds even at low volumes.
Tilt & PowerStem
In addition to a 3-band EQ to control the preamplifier sound, the Marshall Origin amplifiers offer the so-called tilt control. This acts independently of the EQ setting and switches continuously between the warm traditional Marshall Tone of normal input and a treble-rich vintage voicing. With the Powerstem technology, all amplifiers can also be reduced in power by means of output switches to make the power amplifier sound rich and juicy even at lower volumes.
Excellent service from Musicstore, securely packed and delivered quickly.....its a well put together little amp, neat and solid build, great value, decent Marshally sound, classic looks. The tilt control seems more like a parametric than the blend you get with a four input Marshall(I have an old JMP 50 Lead Bass head, the tilt does not give the same effect)but its a useful feature nonetheless. The tone controls have decent sweep and with the tilt give good variation.I havent played around much with the low setting or the boost but they are useful features too. Doesn't bother me much but if you like to experiment with tubes the chassis needs to come out.Its mounted on the back panel so its only four screws,a lot easier than the older combos, but needs a bit of care when doing so. If you're looking for a 5W baby and you like Marshall this is a great option.Kudos to Marshall for including a footswitch too!
