Mapex Mars MA529SF, Nightwood #BZW, Black HW

The Mapex Mars MA529SF 5-Piece Acoustic Drum Kit Nightwood is a 5-piece acoustic drum kit, that includes a 22"x18" Bass Drum, 10"x7" + 12"x8" Tom Toms, a 16"x14" Floor Tom, and a 14"x6.5" Snare Drum, as well as hardware. The drums feature 6-ply birch shells, and a SONIClear tom mount. With the Mars Series, Mapex has resurrected their most successful drum series. Then as now, with the Mars Drums, Mapex is offering superior quality with pro features for a price that is more than fair.

The most significant innovation of the Mars Drum Sets is the SONIClear shell bearing edge. The extreme rounding of the edges increases the resting surface of the head on the shell. This increased contact produces better energy transmission from head to shell, producing a more powerful and deeper ground tone, a highlight of the Mars drum shells. The Tom mounts of the Mars Drums are adopted from the significantly more expensive Saturn IV Series. Minimal contact with the Toms ensures for almost unrestricted resonance behavior and are thus partially responsible for the powerful and assertive sound of the Mars sets.

The Mars Drums are made from 100% birch wood. Birch is common and popular in drum making due to its focused, attack rich sound with a fast address and clear sound projection. A complete hardware pack from the Mars Series is included. It contains a snare, hihat, cymbal stand and pedal, everything you need. In addition we have also thrown in a set-up DVD with tips and tricks a help get you started.
