With the Mars series, Mapex has revived one of its most successful drum series. And just like back then, the Mapex Mars drums offer upscale equipment with features from the professional series at a more than fair price.

SONIClear shell burr

Probably the most profound innovation compared to the Mars drumsets of yesteryear is the SONIClear shell burr. The strong rounding of the edges increases the contact surface of the head on the shell. This increased contact results in a stronger power transmission from the head to the shell, which emphasizes and highlights the powerful and deep fundamental tone of the Mars drum shells. Last but not least, this form of shell burr makes Mars drums easier to tune.

SONIClear tom suspensions

The tom suspensions of the Mars drums were borrowed from the much more expensive Saturn IV series. With minimal contact to the Toms, they allow for almost unrestricted resonance and are thus part of the powerful and assertive Mars sound.

Full Birch Shells

Mars drums are made from 100% birch wood. Known and loved in drum making, birch is known for its focused, attack-rich sound with quick response and clear sound projection.
