The Major DMX- Merger/Booster 2in8 combines several DMX signals into one. All inputs of the Major Merger/Booster 2 in 8, DMX/XLR5 offer full RDM support. In order to avoid electrical interference, both the DMX inputs and the DMX outputs are electrically isolated via optocouplers.
Five coloured LEDs reliably show the user an applied mains voltage, DMX signals and RDM activity. The front panel also has a DMX termination switch for each input. Three BCD coding switches on the front panel allow you to select the DMX channel from which input A and input B are merged. With a further coding switch the merge mode can be selected (HTP = Highest Takes Precedence, LoTP = Lowest Takes Precedence, LTP = Latest Takes Precedence as well as A Backup by B). The speed of the output signal can also be changed in three steps (44/33/22 Hz).
The Major DMX- Merger/Booster 2in8 has two DMX inputs and eight separate outputs. Both inputs offer full RDM support. The outputs also amplify the DMX signal. In order to avoid electrical interference, both the DMX inputs and the DMX outputs are electrically isolated via optocouplers. The direct outputs (DMX THRU) enable a device-independent distribution of the DMX signal (e.g. in case of power failure).
A DMX Merger/Booster is usually a "continuous operating device" which is permanently installed, for example, in a data distribution unit. Therefore, the unit does not have a separate power switch.
