The case is made of lightweight honeycomb panels, which makes it attractive for me as I am carrying it by hand a lot. It would not hold up to heavy duty touring situations, but is perfectly fine if you do load-in/out yourself and have control over position in a truck or van. Not strong enough to sit on.
** needed small modifications in my case:**
The foam in the lid that keeps the unit from sliding is touching the top rotary controls, so I notched those out of the foam with a hobby knife.
The USB slot is not covered by the foam, so a thumb drive could remain installed, that's a plus!
Room at the back is plenty to operate the console in the case and the foam allows air to pass under the mixer to the small fan that is present. there is also enough space in my case to place a small wireless router for remote control
The butterfly catches are of the type that move outward to disengage and don't get stuck.
Yep, it's a case. Well built and an essential piece of kit to protect my mixer. Handles are in the right place. Lid is easily detached. It does what it should and for a reasonable price point.
