The V4CO from Liquid Sky DVices is a dual Wavetable oscillator with authentic 8-bit sound. Each of the two-tone generators uses 16 x 16 waveforms, with the second oscillator containing a different wavetable set than the first. Attached to the oscillators are two sub-oscillators with square waveforms that operate an octave below the frequency of the oscillators and provide a fat Bass sound. The frequency range of both oscillators can be easily switched between audio and LFO modes. If you need an LFO with unusual waveforms in other patches, the V4CO is also an experimental CV source. If you patch the second OSC in LFO mode into the common FM input, the Dual oscillator really brings out the big guns. Details such as waveform shuffle, a detune function and hardsync are exciting functions to fully exploit the sonic possibilities. A chromatic quantizer works at the 1V/Oct input, making it easy to hit the right notes. The levels of the oscillators can be modulated internally via their own VCAs. An analogue distortion is connected downstream of the VCAs to give the rather harsh sound the necessary hardness. Oscillators 1 + 2 and sub-oscillators 1 + 2 are equipped with individual outputs. The mix output provides the (distorted and/or level-modulated) signal from the tone generators without subs. As an option, the GLITHc expander can be used to get to grips with the sounds of the V4CO at circuit bending level.
