The LP Udu Drums are made of clay and are made following hundreds of years of African traditions. The name "Udu" originates from the Nigerian Ibo language and basically means "pot-like items". This percussion instrument can be played with the palm of the hand or fingers on almost any conceivable place on the instrument. The structured surface makes a range of alternate sounds possible through rubbing.
LATIN PERCUSSION Udu Drum Mbwata LP1400-MB Features: Structured surface for additional sound options Incl. Stand ring
An excellent udu drum. Due to the low temperature firing of clay the clay vibrates a lot when you hit it. The sound is very resonant when struck with a finger both at the large chamber and at the top small chamber. It is great for playing indian-style beats. It is surprisingly loud for an udu drum, too. A great buy. I recommend it highly!
