The Lake People Monitor Controller MC100 is a remarkably featured unit that includes five inputs, including a high-quality USB input with D/A converter, two slave outputs, three speaker outputs plus subwoofer output, and a headphone path with X-Feed. The comprehensive range of stereo signal controls - including solo L/R, channel swap ,phase reverse, mono, mute and dim - and high-quality volume control make it unique among monitor controllers. It features minimal noise and distortion, limited only by physical boundaries.
The stereo inputs are composed of two balanced inputs on the rear panel (Input 1 and 2) with balanced XLR jacks, an unbalanced input on the rear panel with RCA jacks (Input 3), an unbalanced input on the front panel with a 3.5mm TRS jack (Input 4), and a USB input on the rear panel with a high-quality D/A converter supporting PCM signals up to 384 kHz / 32 bits and DSD 256 (Input 5). The inputs can be activated individually or in summation via front panel buttons, with active inputs indicated by LEDs. The sensitivity of the unbalanced inputs (Input 3 and 4) can each be set to -10 dBV or +4 dBu.
The stereo signal can be modified via buttons, with the respective status indicated by LEDs. Options here are soloing the left or right channel, swapping right and left, phase swapping the left channel or mono switching. furthermore, dim (-20 dB) and mute are available.
The volume is controlled by the high-quality, gridded Alps RK27 volume control with 41 grids and a solid 50 mm knob. This controls the three output paths as well as the subwoofer output.
The slave outputs on the rear panel "Slave
The output groups "A, B and C" can be switched individually or in summation. The "Sub" output can be added individually and the assignment to the respective group can be stored.
The headphone amplifier, activated by a separate button, has its own volume control and a switchable X-feed function. This function reduces the feeling of "in-the-head localization" when listening through headphones and simulates speaker playback instead. The intensity of the X-Feed effect can be adjusted via a control. The amplifier is exceptionally powerful and can handle headphones with 6.3 mm and 3.5 mm jacks.
