LD-Systems HPA4 4-Channel Headphone PreampThis unit works very well. i can hear no noise at all in any channel, and the sound quality is great. it is very well built and it is compact. the only flaw in it is the lack of an on/off switch, it is really regrettable i want to keep it turned on to the audio interface constantly but i am not using it all the time, so i have to disconnect the power cable in order not to spend too much energy unnecessarily...it is really just a detail, but the work flow would be easier with this simple addition, and it could also be considered more eco-friendly.
LD Systems are a bran of Adam Hall which would straight away indicate quality. This is an excellent small form factor headphone amp. The build quality is excellent but most importantly the sound is very clean and powerful. The build quality is excellent with a quality feel to the knobs, rubber anti slip feet on the base and the ins and outs also feel solid. I am using this to drive 4 pairs of Audio Technica ATH M50Xs and there is ample power to drive them cleanly, the audio is completely free of distortion. For such a small footprint it is remarkably powerful, it features RCA and quarter inch stereo in. Overall for the money I would give this 5 stars, I would highly recommend this and will be checking out LDs other products.
