The Effektor CP3603 Compressor Kuassa is an entry-level compressor effect plugin with three compression types based on classic pedals. The effect is especially suitable for bass guitars, electric guitars and drums to produce a longer lasting tone and a constant sound level. Of course, it is also suitable for acoustic and classical instruments or vocal recordings. The plugin offers three preset compression modes and supplements these presets with a comp and a release control as well as volume control. Some bonus features complete the package.
Despite the software implementation in its algorithms, this compressor plug-in proceeds in the same way as the circuits of classic compressor pedals. The effect quality of the Effector CP3603 Compressor can be recognized by its perfect balance. Good compression is audible, but still subtle and should not be identified as an effect. Instead, the loudest parts of the sound are damped based on an adjustable threshold value. Subsequently, softer tones below this threshold are raised and shifted into the audible range. String sounds, for example, sound longer without having too much touch - a fact from which drums of course also benefit greatly: Snares chatter longer and still have a less shrill attack. Even vocals or even voice recordings sound more even with this compression module. The following three compression types ensure this:
- VCA: "Voltage Controlled Amplifier" - short response times, modern sound and very clean effect
- FET: "Field Effect Transistor" - more aggressive damping and boosting results in a clearly recognizable sound
- OPTO: "Optical" - slower response times for more character and sharper sound separation.
The Comp and Release controls can be used to precisely set the damping and boost thresholds for all three effects. One click on the foot pedal and the compression switches on or off. The A/B comparison feature allows you to quickly and easily discover your optimal effect - either in Linked or Dual Mono mode.
