Introducing KORG volca keys
Korg Volca Keys at a glance
Korg Volca Keys is a compact 3-voice analog synthesizer with analog sound generation for fat synthesizer sounds. A delay effect as well as the loop sequencer based on the Electribe series with motion sequence, active step and flux function allow intuitive and creative work. In addition to many editing options, there are also eight memory locations where patterns can be stored. SYNC and MIDI IN allow synchronization of multiple devices including DAW. Battery operation and integrated speakers provide additional mobility!
Polyphonic sound engine
In addition to the 27-key touch keyboard, sturdy pots help Korg Volca Keys set the octaves or modulation type. Poly, unison, octave, fifth, unison ring and poly ring are possible. In addition, there is a great sound potential, because several parameters can be automated simultaneously in parallel per pattern. The most important parameters are under control in the control panel, others can be reached via shortcuts. The Volca Keys also has a metronome function for the sequencer. Although all three Volcas quantize the recorded notes, the "Flux" function can switch off this function. In addition, there is also an "Active Step" function, with which individual steps can be switched off, which are then simply skipped. Furthermore, there is a delay function that can be influenced via the "Time" and "Feedback" parameters. The small, but fully-fledged synthesizer is clearly structured and therefore also a tip for beginners who want to dive into the world of electronic sounds. The effects and filters are varied.
Volca Keys - practical and convenient
Battery operation and built-in speakers make Korg's Volca Keys convenient to use at any time. Analog synthesizers exhibit unstable pitch when exposed to temperature changes and other influences. Thanks to a self-tuning function, these problems have been solved here. The SYNC jack also synchronizes the playback of multiple Volcas and Monotribes. Using the appropriate app for the iPhone (SyncKontrol), even the tap tempo and swing function and the sync playback of iOS music apps can be controlled wirelessly via WIST. The MIDI IN jack allows external control of Volca Beats via a MIDI keyboard. A DAW can also send signals and use Volca Bass as an analog sound module.

Fantastic lil piece of gear. Sounds incredible for the price! So much fun to play with. You can get some mad sounds going when you chain it with other stuff. The 16 step sequencer is also neat. Built-in delay effect comes in handy all the time. The learning curve is quite smooth. Still learning new tricks though, after having used it for a few weeks!
Real vintage analog synth, amazing for Berlin School sound design (via external MIDI), the filter and the low end are capable to put out warm bass line as well. The delay circuit introduce a very nice "low fi" noise, perfect for dirty sound. Wide range of sound opportunities here and very easy to get them. 100% recommended.
Still experimenting. Maximum of 3 notes at a time is a bit of a pain. Am running it over MIDI from my PC, a lot will depend on getting the best software for my purposes. A greater choice of basic waveforms on the VCO would be nice, but this is pretty entry level stuff.
Fantastic product, very well built, easy to learn to use, fun to use, inspirational, I bought a Korg Volca Beats, it was so good I bought this Korg Volca Keys. These items are very good and very reasonably priced. The shop and service is very reliable. kind regards Kenny
