The Klotz DX10 Passive DI-Box is a passive DI box and the successor to the D10KL. The Klotz DX10 DI-Box was designed to convert high impedance, unbalanced signals into low impedance, balanced signals. The instrument signal between the amplifier and the DI box is tapped.
The abbreviation DI stands for Direct Injection and describes the tapping of the pure, direct instrument signal. In the Klotz DX10 DI-Box, the signal is balanced so that it can be transmitted over long distances without unpleasant background noise, fed into a mixing console and processed further.
The Klotz DX10 DI-Box passive has a hand-wired transformer with metal shielding. The transformer core is made of 100% metal. This transformer was developed in-house by Klotz and has a transmission ratio of 6:1. The metal consists of a soft magnetic nickel-iron alloy with excellent permeability (magnetic conductivity). The housing consists of robust and shielded stainless steel with hard-wearing laser engraving. This makes the DX10 DI-Box passive not only much more sound neutral and stable than other DI-Boxes, it is also ideally suited for live operation.
