The Kawai MP11SE Stagepiano is the renewed version of the Kawai MP11. Like its predecessor, the Stagepiano has the high-quality Grand Feel keyboard but has also received a number of exciting improvements. These include a range of new sounds, a new look, a foot pedal and improved connections.
New Sounds
The Kawai MP11SE contains the grand piano sounds of the Shigeru Kawai EX concert grand and the Shigeru Kawai SK-5 as well as the Kawai concert grand EX. The grand piano sounds are all available in Harmonic Imaging XL quality.
Changed optics
In order to be visually closer to a concert grand, Kawai has given the MP11SE Stagepiano black side panels with a grand piano look.
foot pedal
The Kawai MP11SE already comes with the new GFP-3 pedal, which has three foot pedals with optical sensors and stepless control.
Improved connections
The connection possibilities of triple pedal GFP-3, expression pedal, footswitches and others have been greatly extended compared to the Kawai MP11 and are now more flexible.
I do not recommend KAWAI series MP 11 or 11 SE. There are many problems with these pianos. First of all they have problems with soft-sensor calibration. I don't make the sound the way It should at different levels of velocity. In octave 2 and 3 the volumes are unbalanced compared to the rest of the keyboard. The result is disappointing in the recording. The wooden keyboard tightens over time and the keys touch each other which leads to the blocking of the possibility of singing. Synthetic ivory on the white flaps deteriorates and holes remain in the keys. The keyboard sensors break down easily and you'll have to fix the piano yourself. Don't rely on service. Most have tried to repair themselves as seen on youtube. Last but not least, when you carry this piano, you risk getting injured or destroying it because of the weight.
