Second Generation of the Wurm Distortion pedal
With the KMA Audio Machines WURM 2, the creative effects forge from Berlin sends the second Generation of the popular Wurm Distortion pedal into the race. Packaged in a pedalboard-friendly compact case, the analog circuit naturally delivers the unadulterated Wurm sound, which not only presents the brutal chainsaws of Swedish death metal in a modernized form, but is also suitable for other, heavily distorted styles of rock and metal. In addition to the terror control for the intensity of the brute Distortion, the guitar pedal has an active 4-band tone control and three EQ modes for optimal adjustment of the sound. Last but not least, KMA equips the WURM 2 with a relay-controlled, silent switching true bypass.
Analog circuit with brutal sound
At the heart of the KMA WURM 2 is an analog circuit that interprets the character of the Distortion stompbox from Japan, used primarily among Swedish death metal bands, in a modern form. Accordingly, the guitar pedal has almost infinite gain reserves with aggressive-poisonous attitude, which are ideally suited for implementing hard riffs, light-fast tremolo pickings and blazing solos.
Precise tone control
While the terror control of the KMA Audio Machines WURM 2 is responsible for the intensity, the active, semi-parametric 4-band tone control, which has internal trim pots for the center frequencies of the tone controls, allows the exact adjustment of the guitar sound. Here, in addition to the HM-II EQ mode with sharply defined frequency peaks, the modern tuned KMA mode is available for flexible and harmonic sound shaping. For maximum sound character, both EQ modes can be used simultaneously. To counteract a too toxic treble display and unwanted feedback, KMA equips the WURM2 with an input filter that can be activated via an internal DIP switch.
