ATB NoiseGate with extensive features
With the KMA Audio Machines Pylon, the Berlin effect manufacturer presents an innovative noise gate pedal, which not only effectively suppresses unwanted background noise, but also comes up with extensive tools for sound shaping and integration into larger setups. The heart of the effect pedal is the Gate based on a Blackmer VCA, which can be intuitively adjusted and convinces with a lightning-fast response time and effective noise suppression. Furthermore, the compact effect pedal comes up with an adjustable Boost and an output transformer to shape the sound, while a serial effect path, a jack for relay-controlled switching of a guitar amplifier and a connection for optional foot switches or external trigger signals complete the features of the Pylon ATB NoiseGate from KMA Audio Machines.
Fast Gate with intuitive operation
The central NoiseGate of the KMA Pylon works with a high-quality Blackmer VCA and convinces not only with a particularly nimble response time and effective suppression of ambient noise, but also with intuitive operation. While the Threshold control sets the operating threshold of the Gates, the Range switch selects between two different behaviors of the circuit. While the High mode allows long held notes to decay harmonically, the faster Low mode is best suited to support tight staccato riffs.
Boost and output transformer
Another practical feature of the KMA Machines Pylon is the integrated booster, which can be used to shape the guitar sound. In addition to a level boost of up to 30 dB, the Boost has a low cut that can be adjusted between 65 Hz and 730 Hz, which prevents muddy basses and muddy sounds. Here, the sync switch determines whether the Boost is activated synchronously with the Gate via the bypass footswitch, always on or always off. In addition, the KMA Pylon comes up with an output transformer, which gives the sound more warmth and optimally adapts the signal to the amplifier or other effect devices.
Extensive connections
As a modern NoiseGate the KMA Audio Machines Pylon naturally comes up with an effect path, and it can be connected to the amplifier via three- or four-cable method. The "Ext Control" jack not only allows the connection of an optionally available bypass footswitch, but can also accept external trigger signals for side-chain applications. Last but not least, the "Channel" connector can be used to change the channel of the guitar amp in use.
