As a signature pedal for funk genius Corey Wong, the Jackson Audio The Optimist Overdrive impresses with a particularly wide-ranging sound pattern that provides the right sounds for sustain-rich solos and crisp rhythm licks. Two characterful overdrive circuits provide the basis for adjusting the right guitar sound, while the active EQ with Baxandall characteristic allows for precise tone adjustment. Last but not least, The Optimist guitar pedal from Jackson Audio can be integrated into complex live and recording setups via MIDI.
Two channels with independent character
At the heart of The Optimist effects pedal from Jackson Audio are two overdrive channels with distinct voicing that can be used individually or together. The "OD 1" channel is clearly oriented to mythical sound characters with germanium diodes, a lively dynamic and striking emphasis on the mids and is ideal for warm solo sounds with long sustain. The "OD 2" channel, on the other hand, features a tonally neutral full range drive. To customize the sound, each channel of the Jackson Audio Optimist is equipped with its own controls for Gain, Tone and Volume.
3-Band Equalizer
In addition, Jackson Audio equips The Optimist Corey Wong SignatureOverdrive with an active 3-band equalizer, which is activated by pressing both footswitches simultaneously and can be used independently of both drive channels to shape the sound. Placed at the end of the Optimist's internal signal chain, the EQ, which works according to the Baxandall principle and is perfectly tuned to the frequency range of the electric guitar, promises a natural and harmonious sound even at extreme settings.
