American Series SL2 DX: Classic Soloist construction
The best-known feature of the famous Jackson Soloist is probably the Speed neck, which runs from the 6-in-line headstock to the rear strap pin and consists of three strips of maple in the American Series Soloist SL2 DX. The ebony fingerboard is glued to this, which, with 24 stainless steel frets in jumbo format and a compound fingerboard radius increasing from 12" to 16", attests to the optimum playing characteristics of each individual fingerboard position. The basic construction of the Jackson American Series Soloist SL2 DX is completed by two alder body wings and a beautiful lemon ice finish.
Seymour Duncan '59 & JB
The combination of a Seymour Duncan SH-1 '59 humbucker in the neck position and a TB-4 JB trembucker on the bridge is a particularly popular pickup combination among hard rock and metal veterans. While the JB bridge humbucker provides a clearly differentiated sound with a juicy Output, the SH-1n '59 on the neck brings additional character into play and is ideal for sustaining leads and warm cleans. The two US-made pickups are controlled via a pickup selector switch with five switching positions and shared controls for Volume and Tone.
