The JBL 708P is an active 2-way near-field monitor for recording studios, film and post production as well as broadcast applications. With its high output power of 2x 250 watts, AES/EBU interface for digital integration and extensive DSP settings for individual adaptation to room acoustics, this reference monitor is optimally equipped for use in modern working environments.
Next Generation Drivers
The 705P uses the same patent-pending driver technologies and the renowned Image Control Waveguide from JBL, which was also installed in the flagship M2. Despite its compact dimensions, the JBL 705P studio monitor offers an exceptionally high beam angle to ensure a detailed sound image even at greater distances. The built-in dual power amplifier supplies the 8" woofer and the tweeter with 250 watts each - enough power to enable even larger listening distances and thus predestined for video and post-production.
DSP-based room adjustment
The integrated digital adaptation to the acoustic conditions of the installation site is also very versatile. A knob on the back of the box and a clear display allow various adjustments to be made and saved. Here, for example, frequency adjustments can be made via a 12-band EQ or delays in the running time can be set to compensate for any synchronicity delays to video displays.
Digital connection
In addition to the analog inputs, the JBL 705P offers the possibility of a completely digital integration into the given working environment. Via an AES/EBU interface and an internal sample rate converter, the reference monitors can be connected directly to a DAW, digital mixers or audio interfaces.
Compact design
The active monitors of the 7 series were developed for a modern working environment. They are extremely compact, magnetically shielded and prepared for wall or ceiling mounting. When free-standing, they can be operated both vertically and horizontally.
