This guitar looks like a Jazzmaster, has P90 pickups like a LP Junior and has a vintage Strat tremolo! That may seem a bit odd but its a very good choice for the money.
Yes, the bridge/tremolo is not particularly good and you might want to cosider changing it.
Yes, the pickups are noisy when not in hum-cancelling middle position but they sound quite hot.
Yes, the frets are pointy and sharp at the edges but the actual frets are perfectly even without any bumps, something you may not see in a guitar a lot more expensive.
The finish of the guitar is perfect, Im really impressed by that and the neck is very comfortable. The only real problem for me is the nut which is small, cheap plastic and the strings are almost on top of it instead of passinf through it. As a result the guitar goes out of tune every 5 minutes.
If you are looking for a guitar that is beautiful to the eye, comfortable to play and as cheap as it gets then look no further. Just consider changing the nut and maybe the tremolo first thing when you get it.
Affordable entry level instrument with good overall workmanship.
Pros: excellent finish, quite hot pickups, good playability
Cons: cheap bridge, frets needs some leveling, bad soldered electronics
This guitar doesnt sound like real Jazzmaster, more like 90s Gibson Les Paul Special, which ir good for me.
Despite all cons this is good guitar for modding, change the bridge, install some new frets, throw in some other pickups and youll get excellent guitar.
I was really surprised by this guitar, it looks so much better than in the photos. This guitar will benefit from a proper set up like a lot of guitars in this price point, however I've had guitars in the past from manufacturers from a higher price range that were much worse in terms of fit and finish. These guitars do represent a real bargain, you get a lot of guitar for not a great deal of money.
I've been tempted to get one of these for years and now I've finally got one...and I am pleased I did. This is the only guitar out there, as far as l know, with this configuration. P90s, strat vibrato and a Jaguar style body with a simple 3 way switch. I really wish there were a better quality guitar like this made somewhere....but as there isn't l just got this one.
The basic wood construction is very good. Workmanship and finish is very good.
The frets needed leveling and polishing and the truss rod needed adjustment. The nut needed work too. Luckily l have a lot of experience doing these things so l now have a nicely playable guitar for cheap, but someone buying this and having to pay someone to make it usable might not be as pleased.
I like the neck profile. Reminds me of some 60s strats l've played.
Pickups are 'ok' but l might change them for Wilkinson P90s.
Tuners are cheap. I might upgrade them too.
The strat vibrato actually seems ok and works quite well. It came with a white tip on the arm, which is annoying as the rest of the guitar has cream knobs and pickups. I changed that too. I also put a spring in the arm hole and a bit of plumbers tape on the threads to firm up the vibrato arm. Works ok now. I considered changing it for a Wilkinson replacement l have handy but the 6 mounting holes don't match. I'll just leave it as is.
I don't mind doing all this because l am getting a pretty good guitar with these unique specs, but l really think they should make a 'better' version of it in the first place.
I like the guitar. Its the cheapest jazzmaster/jaguar looking guitar. The craftmenship on this guitar is executed well, Tremolo is totally usable if you set it correctly. Also i like the neck. Its really different from my telecaster or any other guitar, but it has its own magic.
