The 1U XFade by Intellijel is a classic DJ-style stereo crossfader that has a few special tricks up its sleeve. Like a 2-channel battle mixer, the 1U XFade has two stereo inputs, which are mixed to a stereo output via Crossfader. Since the inputs are normalized, you can also work with mono signals without any problems. The working range of the fader is switchable between cut, exponential and linear. The second function of this module are the two CV outputs, which turns the 1U XFade into a CV controller. Each side of the crossfader is permanently assigned a CV output, so conceptually they work in opposite directions. This is where the second toggle switch comes into play, switching between unipolar and bipolar. Unipolar means, when A outputs 5V, B is at 0V and vice versa. In bipolar mode A would be at +5V and B at -5V. Depending on the fader position, all voltage values in between are possible. The built-in Innofader slider is characterized by a high durability and a very precise control behavior. The module is ideal wherever you want to mix two signal sources (e.g. two smaller modular systems) in DJ style or simply want a large control element instead of a usual mixer module.
