Intellijel 1U Ringmod

The 1U Ring mod by Intellijel is a ring modulator for the 1U series in the Eurorack modular system.

The ring modulator belongs to the classics of analogue synthesis. Fed by two waveforms it generates a third waveform which is the sum and difference of both waveforms at the same time. Sine and triangle at the inputs generate the cleanest sounds, while sounds with metallic character are the domain of a ring modulator. The circuit includes a high-quality SSI2162 VCA IC that provides excellent results.

In addition, Ringmod is DC-coupled and therefore equally suitable for audio and CV signals. Combining an envelope and an LFO at the inputs creates exciting modulations that have hardly been heard before. Also the use as a linear VCA is possible if only unipolar signals are used at the inputs.
