The Ibanez Bass Workshop SRF705-BBF Fretless Brown Burst Flat "Portamento" is aimed at all bassists who are looking for an instrument with the woody sound character similar to that of a double bass and the comfortable playability of an electric bass. Based on the ergonomic Soundgear design, this five-string instrument consists of a neck-thru maple walnut neck with a fretless panga-panga fretboard, which in combination with the factory wound D'Addario Flatwound strings promises a warm singing tone. In addition to the classic Bartolini MK-1 magnetic pickups with active 2-band EQ, the Ibanez SRF705 Portamento also features the Ibanez AeroSilk piezo pickup system with active preamp for authentic acoustic sounds. High-quality hardware in the form of an Ibanez AeroSilk custom bridge and precision die-cast tuners complete the Ibanez Bass Workshop SRF705-BBF Fretless Brown Burst Flat.
In designing the Ibanez SRF705-BBF Fretless Brown Burst Flat, Ibanez paid particular attention to creating a singing sound that harmoniously integrates the low B-string. Accordingly, this five-string features okoume body wings and a neck-thru five-piece maple walnut neck with a fretless panga-panga fretboard, which in combination with the factory wound D'Addario Flatwound strings produces the typical purring fretless sound. Fretlines on the flank of the fretboard facilitate clean intonation, whereas the slim "SRF5" neck profile promises comfortable playability.
Plugged into an amp, the Ibanez Bass Workshop SRF705-BBF Fretless Brown Burst Flat convinces with its multi-faceted sound. Two classic Bartolini MK-1 magnetic pickups with their own active 2-band EQ provide the classic electric bass sound, skilfully capturing the singing fretless character. In addition, the Ibanez AeroSilk piezo pickup system delivers authentic acoustic sounds that clearly echo the double bass. In addition to volume and tone controls, the Ibanez SRF705-BBF's active piezo preamp also features four string balance controls to adjust the volume of the strings.
The SRF705-BBF Fretless Brown Burst Flat Ibanez Bass Workshop is rounded out by high-quality hardware equipment that performs on stage and in the recording studio with absolute reliability. The Ibanez AeroSilk Custom Bridge features individually adjustable string saddles that not only guarantee optimal intonation and pitch, but also contain the piezo pickups. On the headstock, Ibanez die-cast bass tuners ensure precise and stable tuning of this five-string instrument.
