Electric guitar with contemporary playability and traditional sound character
The Ibanez Prestige AZ2203NT-DBF Dark Tide Blue Flat combines the AZ design optimized for modern playing techniques with a special focus on tradition-conscious Vintage sounds. In addition to the ergonomically shaped alder body, the electric guitar features a bolt-on "AZ Oval C" neck made from S-Tech Wood roasted maple and a rosewood fingerboard with stainless steel fretting in jumbo format. A pickup setup with three Seymour Duncan Fortuna single coils specially developed for the AZ series ensures finely resolved vintage tones with lively dynamics on the guitar amplifier, while the clever 5-way circuit with blend control makes a wide range of tones available. Of course, Ibanez completes the Prestige AZ2203NT electric guitar with high-quality Hardware in the form of a Gotoh T1502S tremolo system and tuning-stable Gotoh Magnum Lock H.A.P. machine heads.
The Ibanez Prestige AZ2203NT-DBF Dark Tide Blue Flat combines agile, contemporary playing characteristics with traditional timbres and top-class features.
Thanks to the Super All Access Neck Joint, even the highest positions of the roasted "AZ Oval C" maple neck can be played without any problems.
AZ guitar with agile handling
For the optimized bolt-on construction of the Prestige AZ2203NT, Ibanez not only relies on first-class tonewoods that promise a lively sound, but also on extensive adaptations to complex playing techniques in keeping with the spirit of the times. While the alder body promises a snug playing position and easy handling both on the strap and on the thigh thanks to the generous contours on the front and back, the fluidly designed Super All Access Neck Joint guarantees unhindered access to the highest registers. Thanks to the pleasantly flat and rounded "AZ Oval C", the bolt-on neck made of S-Tech Wood Roasted Maple sits comfortably in the hand, so that any solo or riff can be performed with ease on the rosewood fingerboard with compound radius. Virtually wear-free jumbo stainless steel frets with Prestige Fret Edge Treatment and perfectly rounded ends also allow every bend to glide smoothly and as if on rails.
Three Seymour Duncan Fortuna Alnico single coils elicit finely resolved sounds with authentic vintage flair from the guitar amplifier.
Seymour Duncan Fortuna single coils
The electrical sound conversion of the Prestige AZ2203NT electric guitar is handled by a traditional pickup setup with three Fortuna single coils from Californian pickup guru Seymour Duncan, which was developed exclusively for the Ibanez AZ series. Traditionally equipped with classic Alnico magnets and a particularly moderate output, the three classically built single coils elicit authentic vintage sounds of the highest quality from the guitar amplifier. With a sensitive response and a finely balanced sound that combines deep but never undefined bass tones with brilliant highs, the Fortuna single coils capture every nuance in your playing and are suitable not only for glassy cleans but also for wonderfully singing overdrive sounds.
The smart circuit with blender potentiometer allows intuitive access to all pickup combinations.
Flexible circuit with blend control
Ibanez has equipped the AZ2203NT with a clever blend circuit to provide the widest possible sound palette on the guitar amplifier. While the 5-way blade switch calls up the three Seymour Duncan Fortuna single coils individually and in the familiar circuits, the blend control allows the neck or bridge pickup to be added continuously in switch positions 1, 2, 4 and 5, enabling the otherwise unattainable combination of neck and bridge pickup or the interplay of all three pickups.
Gotoh Magnum Lock H.A.P. with clamping function for the strings and height-adjustable axle hold the AZ2203N guitar securely in the correct tuning.
High-quality Hardware from Gotoh
Last but not least, Ibanez completes the Prestige AZ2203NT-DBF Dark Tide Blue Flat with high-quality add-on parts that are perfectly tailored to the demands of modern guitarists. Equipped with five springs and set to rest firmly on the body, the Gotoh T1502S 2-point tremolo supports the lively vintage sound character of the electric guitar, but also enables smooth down-bending for harmonic tone embellishments. Six string saddles with generous adjustment travel also guarantee precise intonation and comfortable string action, even when using alternative tunings. At the headstock, a bone nut guides the strings in a straight line to the precise and tuning-stable Gotoh Magnum Lock H.A.P. machine heads, whose height-adjustable winding axles allow precise adjustment of the contact pressure of the strings on the nut.
