Iceman with mahogany construction
The basis of the Ibanez Paul Stanley PS120 is the Iceman design, first presented in 1975, which Paul Stanley chose for his signature guitar whilst on the KISS Japan Tour in 1977. Here, the body is made of mahogany with a maple top whilst the glued neckis also made of mahogany and carries an ebony fretboard. This combination provides the perfect basis for powerful rock sounds, while at the same time the neck with its strong profile sits comfortably in the hand, so that riffs and solos come off easily.
Ibanez Paul Stanley PS120: Seymour Duncan pickups for juicy rock sounds
For his Ibanez PS120, Paul "Starchild" Stanley wanted two humbuckers from Seymour Duncan, which allow the signature electric guitar to deliver juicy sounds for classic rock. The Seymour Duncan Custom 5 at the bridge, equipped with an Alnico V magnet, convinces with its hot sound, whose hollowed-out midrange spectrum ensures a balanced harmony between bass and treble. Accordingly, the pickup is predestined for tight rhythm work and solos with biting assertiveness. At the neck, on the other hand, the Seymour Duncan '59 convinces with a warm vintage sound that makes solos sing and ensures harmonious chords and melodies on a clean amp.
