Ibanez Paul Gilbert PGMM11-JB miKro Signature Jewel Blue
I have a most of these 3/4 versions of Paul Gilbert's and Paul Stanley's guitars. This one like all the others are not really that playable out of the box. But after a fret job and a much needed setup it turns into a very capable guitar. For the price I think it's a very fair deal. And it sure does look the part.
There are not many short scale guitars on the market, and most of them are marketed at children (read between the lines: crap quality and cheap sound). But let's face it: there are adults out there who aren't too large either. Say you're a girl with miniature hands, and a standard size guitar feels like a huge log next to you, whatcha gonna do then heh? Chit chat aside, this is a very decent instrument, with wide tonal variety (thanks to 5-position switch and coil-split pickups). Sounds very clean and deep. Super comfortable to play for small-handed players. Very lightweight and compact, but still it looks like a proper instrument (and yes, it does look astonishingly beautiful). Tuners could've been a bit better, but hey, look at the price tag.
Good guys from Musicstore added a special cleaning cloth as a bonus - very nice touch.

Our son expressed an interest in learning guitar which as a player myself, was good news!
He is only 6 so wanted to find a 3/4 size electric - looked at a few manufacturers offerings (Fender, Jackson, Epiphone, Ibanez) but the PGM Mikro range stood out - maybe because I am a Paul Gilbert fan and know he tours with one of these. A little more expensive that the Fender or even the standard Mikro range but such a great guitar to play.
A few little finish details let it down (thin paint around the neck bolts) but a fantastic guitar straight out of the box. Easy to play, well balanced, mid-weight, good sound and obviously great to look at.
If you want something a little different in the 3/4 market, this is definitely one to look at.
