The Ibanez Bass Workshop EHB1005F-AOM Fretless Arctic Ocean Matte convinces as a fretless interpretation of the Ergonomic Headless Bass not only with the multifaceted sound colors of a fretless fingerboard, but also with excellent playing characteristics and high-quality equipment. While the lightweight basswood body and flat neck made of roasted maple and walnut promise hassle-free handling of the bass guitar, Bartolini BH2 pickups and active 3-band tone control transform the wallowing tone of the fretless fingerboard made of blue Richlite into diverse electric Bass sounds. Last but not least, Ibanez MR5HS single bridges with integrated tuners and practical Schaller S-Locks complete the features of the Bass Workshop EHB1005F-AOM Fretless Arctic Ocean matte Bass by Ibanez.
The Ibanez Bass Workshop EHB1005F-AORM Fretless Arctic Ocean Matte is an ergonomic headless bass with fretless fingerboard made of blue Richlite and a top-class equipment.
The ergonomic design of the weight-reduced linden body and the flat neck in the "EHB5" profile promise excellent playing characteristics.
Ergonomic design & blue Richlite fretless fingerboard.
When designing the Bass Workshop EHB1005F, Ibanez pays special attention to the ideal combination of a characterful fretless tone and excellent playing characteristics. Accordingly, the central component of the bass guitar is the fretless fretboard made of blue Richlite, which not only guarantees the unmistakable, singing sound character but with fretlines and fluorescent side dots also enables inexperienced fretless players to intonate unerringly. While the five-screw neck made of roasted maple and walnut fits comfortably in the hand thanks to the flat "EHB5" profile and lets even complex bass lines come out of the fingers with ease, the optimally balanced linden body with weight-reducing chambers and ergonomic shape promises agile handling of the E-Bass both on the strap and on the thigh.
Bartolini pickups and the active 3-band EQ elicit extensive timbres from the bass amp. MR5HS mono rails with built-in tuners keep the bass safely in the correct tuning.
Bartolini pickups & Active EQ with semi-parametric mids.
As pickup for the Bass Workshop EHB1005F Fretless Headless Bass Ibanez chooses two Bartolini BH2 humbuckers, which are not for nothing among the greatest classics and the Bass pickups. By using wide blade pole pieces, the powerful dual coils convince with a finely articulated sound that captures the singing and wallowing tone of the fretless fingerboard with all details and transports it to the bass amp with a tight low end and smooth treble spectrum. While the blend pot allows mixing the signals of both pickups to retrieve multifaceted tonal nuances, the active Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band tone control with semi-parametric midband helps to precisely adjust the bass sound in the character-shaping frequency ranges. Thanks to the bypass switch, the active Equalizer can also be bypassed in favor of a traditionally passive sound.
The custom headpiece at the end of the neck holds the strings of the EHB1005F securely in place.
High-quality headless hardware
Of course, Ibanez completes the Bass Workshop EHB1005F-AOM Arctic Ocean matte fretless Bass with high-quality attachments that more than live up to the professional standards of the fretless bass guitar. While the strings are locked bombproof at the end of the neck by an Ibanez Custom headpiece, the clever MR5HS single bridges at the end of the body promise not only an exact adjustment of intonation and string action but also butter-smooth and precise tuning processes with the integrated tuners. The removable finger ramp, which can be placed between the pickups if desired, also turns out to be a practical detail that prevents fingers from dipping too deeply between the strings. Last but not least, Schaller S-Locks hold the EHB1005F Ergonomic Headless Bass securely to the instrument strap.
