The IK Multimedia ToneX Pedal at a glance
The IK Multimedia ToneX ped al is much more than a simple floor modeler. The smart pedal is part of an entire ecosystem for modern guitarists and bassists that spans multiple platforms as part of the extensive AmpliTube/ToneX universe . No matter whether in the rehearsal room, on stage or in the living room: ToneX always grants absolute control over your own sound!
Of course, the Italian modeling specialists rely with the ToneX pedal on state-of-the-art technology in the form of Advanced AI Machine Modeling and the advanced VIR Cab Technology, and the sound of the individual amp and pedal simulations as realistic as never before. In addition, numerous connection options are available, which make the integration of the ToneX Pedal in almost any existing setup very easy.
The IK Multimedia ToneX pedal comes with high-quality and low-noise converters in first-class quality.
High-quality Hardware for maximum performance
Under the hood of the sophisticated pedal, numerous premium components are waiting to provide first-class signal conversion and a powerful and latency-free real-time calculation of various parameters. Ultra-low noise converters with a sampling rate of 192 kHz and a precise resolution of 24 bit are used for professional applications, while the USB interface turns the ToneX into a high-quality audio interface for studio-quality recordings in no time at all.
An easy-to-read 16-segment display and a clear knob layout for the most important functions form the user interface of the IK Multimedia ToneX Pedal.
Sophisticated design with intuitive operation
In order to always have the right sound at hand in the heat of the moment, the operation of the ToneX is clearly laid out and surprisingly effective. The two knobs to the left and right of the easy-to-read 16-segment display can be used to select the various stored tone models and presets, while the knobs below provide control options for individual parameters of the Tone model and the integrated effects. This way, important amp settings like the 3-band equalizer and gain control as well as essential effects like reverb, compressor and noisegate can be adjusted on-the-fly at any time without having to use the external ToneX Editor.
Numerous connection options
For maximum compatibility with existing rigs and devices of all kinds, the ToneX pedal offers practical connection options on the front of the pedal. In addition to the input for instruments, an output in jack format with separate connections for the stereo channels left and right is available, and spatial sound effects such as delays and reverbs can be ideally used. The two 5-pin connectors also allow easy MIDI control of other MIDI-capable devices, while the connection for foot switches and expression ped als allows real-time control of individual effect parameters or easy switching back and forth between different banks and presets.
With a separate stereo outputs, headphone jack, MIDI connectivity and additional connection for foot switches and expression pedals, the pedal is well equipped for almost any application.
AI Machine Modeling Technology
With its sophisticated AI Machine Modeling Technology, IK Multimedia is taking a radical new approach to the world of amplifier modeling. The AI-based deep learning algorithm creates a profile of one's rig from scratch, ready to use anywhere, anytime, and sonically indistinguishable from the original. Even the response of the amplifier, effects devices such as fuzz or overdrive pedals and, of course, the individual sound of the speaker cabinet are taken into account and reproduced in amazing detail. To create new Tone models, a special dry signal is sent through the equipment to be cloned and re-recorded as a wet signal via a microphone in front of the speaker cabinet. The algorithm then compares the incoming and outgoing signals to determine the individual sound character and capture it as an authentic sounding digital image.
To create hyper-realistic Tone Models, you need a PC or Mac, an audio interface, a re-amp box and a microphone.
With groundbreaking Volumetric Impulse Response (VIR) Technology, cabinet sounds are available in unprecedented detail.
VIR Cab Simulation Technology
Also on board the IK Multimedia ToneX is Volumetric Impulse Response (VIR) Technology, redesigned from the ground up and familiar from AmpliTube 5, which takes the sonic possibilities to a whole new Level compared to conventional cab sims. The novel Cabinet section uses a whopping 600 impulse responses per speaker, resulting in models of legendary 4x12" cabinets made up of a total of 2400 IRs and reproduced with higher resolution than ever before. Combined with amazingly detailed simulations of classic microphone types, this creates a hyper-realistic, three-dimensional space with real-world possibilities for precise microphone positioning and extensive sound shaping options otherwise only available in professional recording studios.
AmpliTube/ToneX Ecosystem
The IK Multimedia ToneX pedal is part of the AmpliTube/ToneX Ecosystem, which consists of various hardware and software solutions. All components of the system are compatible with each other, which means that, for example, a Tone Model created in AmpliTube 5 can be easily edited and used via the ToneX App on any iPhone, iPad, Mac or PC, or implemented in 'classic' rigs via hardware solutions such as the ToneX Pedal or ToneX Capture. This way, your own signature sound is always at hand between stage, Studio and rehearsal room. In addition, the cloud-based ToneNET platformoffers the possibility to share your own creations with the rapidly growing ToneX community and to try out numerous sounds from other User.
The AmpliTube/ToneX Ecosystem spans PCs, Macs, iPhones, iPads and proprietary hardware solutions such as the ToneX Pedal and ToneX Capture.
