Independent Gain and Master controls as well as a switchable FX-Loop come as standard with any modern three channel amp. However, for a true TubeMeister this is not enough. And so Mr. Hughes and Kettner have integrated a MIDI system, that cannot only control channels, FX-loops and the integrated reverb, but also the power output of the integrated Powersoak (36, 18, 5, 1 Watt and Speaker-Off)!
36 Watts
3 Channels
Tubes: 3x 12AX7, 4x EL84
2x passive 3-Band EQ with specially frequency characteristics per channel
Over-dimensioned transformers with huge headroom
Serial FX-Loop for integrating effects
Symmetrical Red Box out with authentic speaker emulation
Integrated, controllable reverb
Integrated MIDI interface
Incl. Phantom power
MIDI Learn for simple programming of channels, FX loop, reverb and Powersoak
Outstanding tube-amp with a lot of possibilities. Midi switchable/programmable (channels, reverb, powersoak) Or swichable with an ordinary footswitch. The clean: A big, clear and crispy sound wich you can easily adjust to get a bit dirty with some gain. A lot of the punch can easily be adjusted by the volume knob on the guitar for a softer tone without interfering with the tone. Crunch: Classic rock, rock n´roll distortion on this channel. Maby not fot the heavy metal dude but yet greater for heavy rock rythms. Lead: A lot of distortion for solos or some kick ass metal riffs. The Eq section takes some time to get to know since the decrease/increase of treble / mids does affect a bigger sweep of the sound than in a "traditional" amp. The powersoak is great! You can easily switch between the variations and get the tubes to work hard on a volume that doesnt crack your ears yet with a rich tubesound. You get a lot of volume out of each setting so dont be afraid that 18w or 36w would feel to little. You can turn down the powersoak to 0 and still use the built in redbox to record or line the the amp with a full feature. CHECK IT OUT!
I heard this Amp only on video, because in my country it is hard to find in stores. And found its sound very interesting and useful in different styles or genres of music. It has clean, crunch and lead channels with wide gain option. It is possible to get bluesy sound and hi-gain on this amp with a lot of dynamic color. Power cutoff is very useful at home especially if you live in a flat. I thank myself that I bought this amp and not the one of 50watt w/o cutoffs. I havent tried it on a rehearsals but as I know it could be used even at stage. With this amps sound I forget that I want to buy a new guitar.
